Heart-Burn Hell!

I had to go to the V-E-T last week because I was being sick every morning, sometimes in the early hours and then I would be crying and not settle.

Mum and Dad took me to the V-E-T and she said that it was doggy heartburn (acid re-flux) and that I need to change my food because my old food (Arden Grange) although a really good dog food, it may be too rich for my delicate tummy!

My New Food is Burns fish and brown rice and is designed for sensitive stomachs and is also a diet food.

This is my food, my treat jar and my stag bar.

I am only allowed one treat per day and that is it because my weight (15kg when I should be 9kg) may be contributing to my heartburn, the treats are Burns Kelties and I love them, the ones on the top are the last of my Pedigree Markies .. they are one of my favorites too!

This is my heartburn medication, its actually for human use and Mum had to sign a waiver form but it has had no negative effects and is safe for dogs to use.

The tablet is called Omeprazole.

The weekend was FINALLY dry so Mum and Auntie Ashley took me up to the Penallta Pit Pony for a really long walk in the sunshine.

We stopped on the bridge for a hug along with some food and water, Mum is wearing the scarf that Madi's Mom made her, she loves it and has got gloves to match ... see?

Me and Auntie Ashley play together, lots of exercise is need to get me to loose these puggy pounds!

Auntie Ashley, she is not only Mums Sister but her Bestest Friend, I love walking with her, she is beautiful and so much fun!!

It starts to get dark so we have to head home, it was a great weekend and I'm feeling so much better already!

  1. Frank I am so very happy you are feeling better. You are handling the ONE treat a day better than I would. If I didn't get more than one I would get a tummy ache. hehehhe

  11. Hi Tank
I am so sorry to hear you have had tummy problems! They are no fun at all.
You have the best pawrents in the world to rush you off to the vet to get some medicines, and suggestions for changing your food. Pawrents worry-- I know!
I have had tummy problems too, and I have to take Pepcid.
Be sure to take all your medicine and get lots of rest.
    love

  12. Frank, I hope you will be well soon and the medication and the new food will help your tummy. I had to change my food too, because I've got a thunderstorm in my tummy a view weeks ago. I hope we will find the perfect food for me too, but it's not easy here.

  14. We don't know which one is more sad, the heartburn or only 1 treat a day. Both are terrible! Maybe you can run more and get more muscle?
