Goodbye To The Tree Tunnel!

Today we say "Goodbye" to The Willow Tree Tunnel!

The Willow Tree Tunnel - On a Sunny Winters Day.

The Willow Tree Tunnel - On a Cold Autumn Morning.

The Willow Tree Tunnel - On a Wet Summers Day.

The Willow Tree in its Green Glory!

Starting to shed its lush leaves.

Just sticks and twigs in Autumn!

I loved The Willow Tree Tunnel, it was beautiful ...

The Willow Tree Tunnel - in the snow this February!

Both Mum and Dad loved The Willow Tree Tunnel too!

But on Saturday Me, Mum and Auntie Ashley walked down the track to the lake and were greeted with this sad sight!

No Willow Tree Tunnel.

Just an empty space where it used to be!

I sniffed around for clues ....

The stumps and sticks are all that is left of my beloved Willow Tree Tunnel.

I found a sign and asked Mum to read it to me!

Auntie Ashley was shocked!

Due to repeated acts of vandalism the willow tree tunnel has become very badly damaged. for this reason the decision has been taken to clear all of the willow back to ground level to allow it to re-grow.
It will take up to 5 years!

Once we got over the shock we had a lovely walk in a new direction

Me and Auntie Ashley love to have new adventures!

Me and Mum Hug, seeing such wonderful views from here!

But now its time to go home ....

  4. Aww, it's sad that the tunnel was chopped down. But how pawsome that it will regrow even after that! Willows are very resilient.

  5. Oh Frank, that just breaks my heart. (and My Vickies) It was such a beautiful tunnel and it had so many faces that it could change to with each season.

I am so sorry that people have messed with it and now it must go. But don't worry, five more years and it will be back. tHose willow trees grow really fast.

    Love
